In a major boost to the renewable energy sector, Poland has confirmed government support for the construction of the world’s largest offshore wind turbine tower plant. The facility, to be built in Szczecin, will play a pivotal role in advancing both Poland’s and Europe’s clean energy goals.
Backed by State Support
The Polish government has officially backed the multi-million-euro investment, signaling strong national commitment to renewable energy infrastructure. This facility will be developed by Windar Renovables, a Spain-based company with experience in manufacturing large-scale wind turbine components.
The project represents a €70 million investment and will cover approximately 17 hectares at the Port of Szczecin.
What Will Be Built?
The plant is designed to feature four modern production lines that will manufacture:
Offshore wind turbine towers
Masts
Foundations
It will primarily serve offshore wind projects but will also contribute to onshore wind energy development.
Job Creation and Economic Impact
According to official sources, the facility is expected to create at least 400 direct jobs, with additional indirect employment opportunities in logistics, construction, and materials supply chains. Operations are set to begin in the first half of 2026.
“This project is not only an investment in clean energy but also in the local economy,” said a government representative during the announcement.
Strategic Location and National Goals
Szczecin was selected due to its strategic access to the Baltic Sea, allowing easy transportation of massive components for offshore wind farms. The investment aligns with Poland’s plan to install up to 18 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040.
This facility will serve upcoming mega-projects such as:
Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm (1.5 GW, by PGE and Ørsted)
Future offshore expansions along the Polish coast
Why This Matters for the Construction Industry
The construction of such a massive, specialized manufacturing facility involves:
Advanced steel fabrication
Pert infrastructure upgrades
Green energy compliance
Collaboration between civil engineers, logistics planners, and environmental specialists.
As construction begins, the industry will witness innovations in modular construction, marine logistics, and sustainable building practices.
Poland as an Offshore Wind Leader
By investing in this tower manufacturing plant, Poland is positioning itself as a leader in offshore wind technology and production. The country is reducing its reliance on fossil fuels and embracing sustainable development — a model that other nations may follow.
This development marks a milestone not only for Poland but for the entire European renewable energy sector. The Poland offshore wind turbine tower plant promises economic growth, green energy, and engineering excellence.
